Overview

Infersens is an award-winning DeepTech company that provides intelligent water sensors for building water systems, leveraging on-device machine learning to provide unparalleled insights into water flow and temperature. Its patented flagship product CortenseⓇ was launched in early 2024 and enables the optimisation of mandatory Legionella Risk Management activities, saving customers time, money and reducing water wastage.

With more than 1000 sensors now deployed, the company is actively building its sales and customer delivery engine, to achieve exciting and ambitious growth.

At its core Infersens is using its flow sensor technology to provide a reliable water flow monitoring service via a subscription model. A positive customer experience and smooth behind the scenes operations are critical to Infersens’ success.

Thus, the company is looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a highly motivated Operations Manager to take a key role in coordinating and managing the customer-facing and operational aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Operations Manager’s day-to-day responsibilities will be highly varied, including

  • Being the primary owner for the success of the customer delivery function, working closely with all business functions to enable a positive customer experience, timely delivery of service and escalating to the senior team as required

  • Manage and develop strong customer relationships, acting as the overarching point of contact, supported by a customer success manager

  • Project manage and where applicable report on larger B2B customer engagements, which typically involve site surveys and deployments, either carried out by in-house team members and/or external subcontractors

  • Manage the fulfillment of direct to consumer e-commerce sales of the product

  • Effective day to day operations and proactively identifying opportunities for Infersens to increase the efficiency of processes across the company and communicate the company’s operating policies

  • Managing manufacturing orders and supply chain to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness, working closely with the Finance Manager, Sales and Senior Team.

  • Keeping track and managing vendor relationships and carrying out SLAs (suppliers, office providers etc.), working closely with the Finance manager.

  • Overseeing the Health and Safety policies, documents and processes and ensuring Infersens is compliant with the law, working with external specialist advisors

  • Oversee HR strategy, policies and processes to help effectively hire, reward and retain the best team possible,, working with external specialist advisors as required.

  • Setting up and maintaining company policy documents, templates and systems including seeking accreditations with support of specialist advisors

  • General company administration, incl. maintaining core company registers and records and supporting the senior team in the preparation of Management and Board documentation

  • Ensuring all process and training documentation are kept up-to-date.

  • Managing and monitoring of company premises, incl. sourcing fixtures, furnishing and general office supplies.

  • General support for event/meeting logistics

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a start-up or small business environment. You will need to be able to work independently, flexibly and agile in a fast-moving business environment. We have offices in Cambridge, UK and the ability to be present on-site once a week is desirable. Remote working options are available for digital aspects of the work.

The successful candidate must, by the start of their role, have permission to work in the UK.
